A situation occurred during AetherCon 2 when two staff members were allowed to enter a contest. As fate would have it, they won. They should have never been allowed into the contest to begin with since all AetherCon staff is ineligible to participate in convention contests and giveaways. The only reason they were allowed to enter was to help move the contest along since there were not enough people to start the contest. So instead of cancelling the contest they were allowed to play. This was a lapse in judgment that will never happen again. The game publishers whose prizes were the subject of the contest have been notified of this indiscretion with our apologies and that there was no malice aforethought on our part. We'd also like to apologize to the legal contestants that participated in the contest as this was not fair to them and we hope they'll join us for AetherCon 3. We at AetherCon stress integrity in everything we do so making this situation known to the public is the right thing to do. The staff of AetherCon are now moving forward and have started working on next year's convention and we hope to see everyone there. Thank you for reading.
